The Third Level Graduate Scheme is created to allow the foreign graduates who are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who obtained a primary, masters or doctorate degree from an Irish third level educational institution to remain in Ireland for a period of six months to two years. The purpose of the permission is to remain there to seek employment and gain a Green Card or Work Permit.

The outside the European Economic Area must study for full time and they are allowed to work 20 hours per week during the course study and 40 hours per week during vacation.
